I am somewhat of a fan of The Hills – I’m not the avid-can’t-miss-an-episode type fan, but I am the type to watch the whole season in reruns if I miss an episode here or there. So I’m obviously excited about The City – Whitney’s spin-off – cus let’s face it, The Hills was getting kinda bland with Lauren’s eye rolls and silent stares, Spencer & Heidi’s constant fighting, and me hating Lo and wishing Audrina had more of a storyline…
Anyway, Whitney always seemed bland on The Hills but on The City, you see more of her own person. Cute nice girl not to be fucked around with – she’s always watching her own back, she’s a smart girl. Now she’s working with “socialite” Olivia, who I know is there for the drama, since she keeps trying to put Whitney down and get her upset.
There’s a boy named Jay who looks so much like some teenage heartthrob actor whose name I don’t know (cus I’m not a teenager), but he’s kinda hot in the Australian rugged long-haired sexy kind of way. But I find like her show is like a cheaply copied reality version of Sex & The City.
Whitney in New York is fine, it’s fun, lots of city shots, lots of ‘hip’ restaurants that paid to get into the show. And after all is said and done, the show may be a success but I’m worried about New York. Will the city get trashed into this bubble-gum princess hollyworld?
I hope it won’t lose its’ dirty grittiness, it’s chic and hipness, all because of MTV….
