Preening, pouting, posing…the Fafinettes are here! The graphic expression of French graffiti artist Fafi, these chick-a-boom gals come alive in shades sparked with colourful pearl. Très chic!
Can I first ask the obvious question? Why are Fafinettes french if they look asian? Anyway, I got my latest makeup haul from MAC and it was exclusively from the new Fafi line, which I’m still frightened of, even after opening and testing some of the products. Here’s a quick rundown:
Lipstick: Not So Innocent – Gorgeous, gorgeous see-thru natural shade. Perfect with a tan (even when acquired in a tanning bed)
Lipgloss: Sugar Trance – I’m a fan of anything sparkly, shimmery, and pink-tinged which completely describes this shade which goes beautifully on top of the aforementioned lipstick.
Fafi Eyes 1 – The seemingly more wearable of the two palettes, it includes ‘Vanilla’ which is an awesome pigment but a sucky shadow, a BEAUTIFUL neutral brown shade ‘Hey’, ‘Pink Venus’ which I’m still not sure how to use, and ‘Howzat’ which is very dark compared to the rest.
Fafi Eyes 2 – ‘Bold as Gold’ is the bright yellow, and ’You’re Fresh’ is the green (I believe) and they’re both nice, they have a sparkle in them, but really they’re not super bright so you can wear them during the day freely. ‘Shockwave’ is the beautiful peachy pink colour and ‘Prankster’ is the dark blue which I’ll probably never wear. This palette seems to not only NOT go with each other, but is so confusing for me.
Blush – Hipness – Probably the BEST BLUSH I’ve ever used in my life. It’s such a flattering shade (I’m between an NC25 – 30, although ONE time the girl gave me NW25 and it still sorta worked) and it looks gorgeous with the lip stuff I bought!
Iridescent Powder – Belightful – AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! A bronzy peach colour, perfect for the sun-kissed look and has sparkles in it!
All in all, this collection I’m going to have to work on. Really, I’m so confused, and I even looked at the face charts and was still kind of thrown off. I guess you have to be brave, or I’ll slowly incorporate these colours with my old ones.
Or I’ll just lurk on Specktra until I find a look that I love and copy it!
Definitely recommend this makeup collection!

Just dive in; it’s not as scary as you think. The lipsticks and lip glosses are fabulous! You’ll want to buy backups. Enjoy your haul.
