Hello hello! I was in Walmart last night on a last minute shopping spree with my mother-in-law, in which I vowed to buy a measuring tape (check!) and two 5-pound dumbbells (check! – bonus they were pink!). I also walked by a ProtiLife stand and ended up buying 5 boxes of it in order to start my 7-day slimming program.
I purchased the hot chocolate mix (because I’m craving it lately), the maple brown sugar cereal (SO GOOD!), chicken noodle soup (too salty), beef soup (haven’t tried yet), and the peanut butter chocolate bars (SO GOOD!). It says you buy 5 boxes for a 7 day plan. My first thought was shit, I’m going to eat food made out of powder for the next 7 days? But after buying and reading it, it’s not like that at all.
It’s actually pretty smart, all these boxes are protein supplements. The menu is as follows:
Breakfast:
ProtiLife Pouch (any pouch you want, I chose the obvious oatmeal cereal)
Fruit (they give you a list of allowable fruits, I had a banana without consulting the chart!)
Snack:
ProtiLife Bar
Lunch:
ProtiLife Pouch
Serving of veggies
Dinner:
One serving protein (group 1)
One serving veggies (group 2)
One serving veggies (group 3)
Snack:
One serving veggies
Mixed in with this is a lot of water (obviously), and the odd coffee or tea.
You do this for 5 days, then there’s a weekend plan in which you use less supplements for 2 days, there is also a 2 week slimming menu you do after to reintroduce food to your system, and then an after-diet.
Now, I don’t think anyone in their mind can be so strict as follow this whole system according to their infinite plan which includes using this ProtiLife stuff for life, but for the next week I’m all theirs.
Their claim: Results? Not only will you lose fat, our products will also help to keep your muscle mass!
Inside their little booklets, which are conveniently found in every single box, there are affirmations, motivation, tips, hints, and questions. Meal plans, etc.
The most alarming thing I found in the whole book which I have a problem with is: We recommend the food be well-salted. WHAT? Since when ? Every book I’ve ever read about dieting always says salt is the devil and that it retains water, etc, etc. I don’t salt anything anymore. Ever. I get enough sodium from foods that I eat. And here they are telling me to SALT my food WELL??
One thing that I won’t be following.
So how do I feel?
I’m not hungry. That’s one good thing.
BUT – you might want to read ahead if you don’t like hearing gross things coming out of a girl’s mouth, so I really recommend to not read this if you don’t want to know and YOU Have Been WARNED – I’m actually feeling really really gassy. Like, I farted upstairs and it smelled like I shit my pants. Sorry. Too vulgar? Gross. I know, I know. I’m guessing maybe too much protein? I have no clue. But hopefully it goes away.
So this is Day One.
I also purchased the Beck Diet Solution, which kind of sounds interesting as it’s based on emotional eating and training your brain to think like a thin person. I’m going to start reading it tonight and I also bought the workbook (because if it comes in pairs, why not get it?), so I’ll let you know all about that tomorrow!

Actually, you should buy 1/2 salt, its better than reg salt and you do need it for potassium. If you don’t use it, you will feel extremely tired and weak.
Thank you for that Paula-lynn. I actually have been feeling slightly weaker this week. Especially when working out. I’ve been trying to not eat salt at all, but perhaps it’s not the best way.
This diet is very similar to the Dr. Bernstein Diet. When you are on that diet, you MUST take potassium pills, so that must be why they say to salt your food. You could always get a prescription for potassium pills from your doctor if you don’t like salt too much (like me!).
Hi,
I’ve been on Protilife for about 4 days now and haven’t lost anything yet. I’ve tried every other diet there is on the market. Please tell me something positive, tell me it works. I need to cling on to something. I’ve also bought 5 boxes and I’ve been following it to the T, I drink a lot of water and exercise for an hour every day. If you’ve done the diet and it works I would LOVE to hear about it…
Thanks,
Monia
Hello,
I do this diet since almost 3 months and I lost 30 pounds! but I’m followed by a doctor!!
It’s VERY important to eat <> three time a day; I drink 3x chicken bouillon/day, morning(max. one hour after being awake), lunch time and dinner time(brand: Parador, low cal.)
Also you need to take <>: brand: Centrum Forte(one after breakfast and one after dinner)
And you need <>: brand: CAL-K (two after each meal)
Every day, you need to eat 4 proteins(the amount of protein has to be arround 15 grams): one for breakfast, one for lunch, one for dinner and one in the evening.
I REALLY SUGGEST YOU TO BE FOLLOWED BY A DOCTOR …..YOUR PRESSION HAS TO BE CHECK OFTEN AND TO HAVE A GOOD HEALTH….VERY IMPORTANT!!!
Good luck……if you really want to do it by your self, at least you will know what to do!!
You should read:
first: salt
second: Multivitamin
third: Potassium and Calcium
Good luck….
I have been on the Protilife Diet now for a week. Lost about 4 pounds. But, I have to acknowledge….that something in the food gives me the worst gas ever!!! I was pms’ing when I started the diet, so, thought I just had really bad cramps…but once the cramps subsided and the gas and gas cramps stayed..I figured it must the the supplements. I have had a similar reaction to “sugar free candies”. So, I put it down to the sugar supplement that they use in the Protilife Milkshakes, Cereal and Snack Bars. Gonna have to eat a lot more soup to stay on this diet. But it does work, so, totally worth the sacrifice for a few weeks. Good luck everybody else!
I found some protilife boxes that were on sale at shoppers drugmart for 2.50 ea. So I bought 5 boxes, and going to try the diet in day or two after I stock up on some fruit and veggies. But also, I have some ‘Wholy Tea’ that I had bought form GNC it is a detoxifying tea, 2 tea bags makes 16 cups tea, so drink 2 a day, tried if in Jan and it really worked–cleaned me right out and lost 4 lbs. Im hoping that I can drink this tea with this diet? And that it it is not oo much on me at once.
Will see how it goes!
